April 18, 2018 – The Atlanta Swim Association (ASA) is proud to announce a new partnership with Swim Across America.  For the last 25 years, ASA has helped host the annual Kids for Kids Atlanta Swimming Championship benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  Sadly the silver anniversary of the meet was the last chapter of it’s quarter century of raising funds for this great cause.  However, as one door closes another one opens.  ASA’s new charity partner continues the long tradition of helping out children in need in the metro Atlanta area, in particular, those who are suffering from childhood cancer.

In just five short years Swim Across America has raised over $1.5 million here in Atlanta.  Swim Across America, founded in 1987, holds 18 open water swims from coast-to-coast, each fundraising for a local beneficiary that supports cancer research, prevention, and treatment. In Atlanta, the open water swim organizes more than 1,000 swimmers and volunteers, spectators, and supporters as well as Olympians near and far. SAA Atlanta is hosting its 6th annual swim at Lake Lanier on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Proceeds from the event benefit the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  Also coming up will be a summer league tuneup stroke clinic with recent Olympians  This is a great opportunity for your swimmers to get in the water before the summer league starts! It’s only $35 for a limited time! See below for details you can forward to your parents and swimmers. Get ready for summer competition with Swim Atlanta! Come out to receive some great stroke tips and techniques and meet Olympians while helping us raise money for pediatric cancer research! Swim Atlanta’s own Olympian, Amanda Weir, will be joined by fellow Olympians Melanie Margalis and Jay Litherland to help make sure your swimmers make a splash this summer swim season! All profits benefit Swim Atlanta’s Swim Across America team which raises money for pediatric cancer research conducted at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  For more info please visit the following website.
