Mount Vernon Presbyterian School seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking coach to join an already outstanding Athletics Department to serve in the role of Swim and Dive Program Director and Varsity coach.
Job Details
This individual will:
Plan and manage the varsity team’s daily operations
Oversee all developmental teams at Mount Vernon within the swim and dive program
Develop and implement daily practice plans
Prepare for meets and manage meet logistics
Establish a team culture, identity, strategy, and philosophy
Implement skills and drills to reinforce proper techniques
Work with assistant coaches on proper training and strategy
Communicate and correspond with parents
Help develop in-season and off-season conditioning and training programs
Delegates appropriate work for assistant coaches
Establish a good working relationship with teachers and help with student academic achievement
Maintain a cooperative relationship with other coaches and have a willingness to share athletes throughout the year
Skills and Requirements
This full-time position will be combined with an open teaching position at Mount Vernon.
Availability for a full-time teaching or administrative position
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in related field; Masters degree preferred
Possess great motivational and organizational skills
Serve as a positive role model while effectively motivating young people
