The Haynes Landing Hurricanes are seeking a dedicated and experienced Swim Team Head Coach to lead our team for the 2019 swim season.
About Us
Haynes Landing subdivision is located in beautiful Johns Creek, Georgia north of Atlanta. Haynes Landing is proud to be the home of the Haynes Landing Hurricanes. An active swim team in our community, the mission of the team is to create a place where kids can develop their swimming skills and meet some great friends along the way. Our team has been competing for over two decades. The team currently is composed of about 100 swimmers from pre-K to high school ages drawn from several different neighborhoods near the Haynes Landing subdivision.Job Description:
The Swim Team Head Coach is responsible for overseeing the Haynes Landing Swim Team program and coaching staff in conjunction with the Haynes Landing Swim Team committee. The Swim Team Head Coach provides feedback on execution and direction during swim practice and swim meets, responds to incidents, and interacts with parents and participants. The Swim Team Head Coach provides high level of customer service and ensures a safe and positive program environment. This is a part-time job with work after school beginning in May and work in the mornings after school ends through the end of June.Essential Functions:
Directs swim practice execution, provides technical work direction to assistant swim team coaches, provides real time feedback and notes to assistant swim team coaches
Plans and develops season goals for the team participants and assistant swim team coaches
Develops and approves weekly workouts for all participants and manages swimmer placement for efficient programing.
Serves as first level contact responding and documenting incidents which may occur.
Provides quality customer service to members, volunteers and participants.
Be present for all swim practices (afternoons beginning in May until end of school and mornings afterwards until end of season) and swim meets (1 practice meet, 5 competitive meets and the county finals meet).
Work with Haynes Landing Swim Team Committee to hire assistant coaches and manage overall swim team programPreferred Qualifications:
Competitive swimming background or competitive swim coach experience
Possess current lifeguard and water safety instructor certifications (American Red Cross preferred), first aid/CPR certification, and American Swim Coach Association certification
Professional and effective communication skills
Ability to provide consistent, positive motivation in a technique-oriented swim program
Enthusiasm in working with children and young adultsSalary and Incentives:
Compensation commensurate with experience
Reimbursement for completion of necessary certification courses
