THIS JOB WILL BEGIN IN MAY 2020 – JULY 2020. This is a seasonal, part time position only. 

Job Description

Responsible for assisting in coordinating and teaching learn-to-swim lessons at Atlanta Athletic Club.

Minimum Qualification

CPR, First Aid and AED Certified

2-4 Years Swim Lesson Instruction Experience OR Youth/Age Group Swim Coaching Experience

 

Knowledge and Skills

Thorough knowledge and application of swimming and water safety skills
Thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills
An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures
Leadership and public relations skills
Communication skills
Decision-making skills

Responsibilities

Be familiar with the learn-to-swim levels offered at Atlanta Athletic Club.
Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants, so they can meet course objectives
Educate participants on proper technique and promote swimmer safety
Provide for the health and safety of participants, including ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment are safe
Cover all material required in a level
Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress
Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations
Complete daily attendance for all lessons taught

 

Reports to: Aquatics Program Manager

Compensation: Paid 65% of all lessons taught. This is a seasonal part-time position with other opportunities to do private swim lessons.
