Items of interest
for the 2008 Kids for Kids Meet
1. There are 3 scheduled warm-up sessions of 20 minutes
beginning at 7:50 a.m. Teams should warm-up during their
designated times. Be considerate of other teams when warming
up. Lane 8 is reserved for one way sprints at all times.
All coaches should supervise their team’s warm up
session and NO TEAMS may use the blocks in any other lanes
for starts. The warmup schedule can be found at the end
of this document.
2. The time line for the meet is about 2:00 p.m. We will
do our best to get the meet done quickly.
3. You can view a psych sheet at http://www.atlantaswimming.com/KFKPsych.asp.
4. When you arrive please be sure to go to the office
located by the diving well to pick up your team’s
t-shirts and heat sheets. If you have not yet paid your
entry fees please bring a check payable to Capital City
Sports.
5. We could use a little help from teams during the meet
with timers. If you would like the best seat in the house
please make your way to the deck at 8:40 a.m. to volunteer.
We will call for replacements at about 11:30 am so come
on down when you hear the call, you assistance is greatly
appreciated.
6. We will be accepting late entries to the meet. The
entry fee the day of the meet is $40 per swimmer. If you
have late entries that you know of now, please e-mail
the details to frankem355@aol.com and we will get them
into the meet. Include each swimmer’s name, age,
events, times and shirt size.
7. Teams should set up in the gym adjacent to the pool
or outside the pool. A PA will keep the swimmers up to
date on what event the meet is currently on. Please pay
attention to make sure your swimmers arrive for their
events on time. There is NO RESERVED SEATING in the bleachers.
Please be considerate of other teams belongings and do
not move them from where they are.
8. There is NO bullpen for the relay events teams are
responsible for getting their own swimmers to the block
when they are called. Please try to avoid clogging the
area around the blocks during the meet. For individual
events we will have a bullpen where 12 & under swimmers
should go before being taken to the blocks. This staging
area will be located outside the entrance to the pool
by the football field entrance. Only coaches and parents
who are directly helping line swimmers up should be in
the area behind the blocks, your cooperation is greatly
appreciated. Swimmers may enter the pool deck from the
back hallway downstairs for all events starting at the
block end of the pool. Your cooperation with this will
greatly ease congestion and confusion during the meet.
In an effort to help our bullpen folks we suggest you
write the names and team affiliation of your younger swimmers
on their backs with a Sharpie pen. This will help for
easy ID of swimmers.
9. Only swimmers and coaches will be allowed on deck.
All parents and spectators are requested to remain in
the spectator area during the meet. Your cooperation is
greatly appreciated. The diving well of the pool will
be CLOSED during the meet.
10. Results will be posted upstairs for the swimmers
and spectators, as well as downstairs in the coach’s
area. The top 3 swimmers from each individual and relay
event get medals. The top 10 teams will receive trophies.
Swimmers will be awarded ribbons for the top 20 places.
Your team may pick up your ribbons and medals at the end
of the session. NEW THIS SEASON IS THE ADDITION OF A TEAM
AWARD FOR ALL STAR TEAMS THAT HAVE MULTIPLE TEAMS COMPETING
UNDER ONE TEAM. We have trophies for the top 3 teams in
this category/
11. Please stick around for the trophy presentation at
the conclusion of the meet for our top 10 teams.
12. Final results will be on the Internet at www.atlantaswimming.com
by Saturday night. We will be glad to provide your team
a full Hy Tek backup of the meet as soon as the competition
is completed.
13. If there is a problem with your entries please see
Franke Marsden immediately for assistance.
14. If there are any questions about the results please
contact meet director Franke Marsden at the scoring room
during the meet. Please have the coach handle all issues
regarding results.
15. All relays will be swum at the start of the meet.
We'll start with the 6 & under free relays, then have
all of the medleys, and then run the rest of the free
relays before starting with the individual events. Coaches
are responsible for getting their relays to the blocks.
Once again, thank you so much for attending this year's
meet. We're so happy to have so many swimmers at this
year's meet, and thank you for supporting our worthy cause.
We would also like to especially thank CMD Services, and
Friends Unlimited for their generous sponsorship of this
year’s meet. We would also like to recognize the
Marist School and their swim coaching staff and booster
club for their support in hosting our event. We are thrilled
that this is our 15th Kids for Kids Meet and that we have
raised over $150,000 to date for very worthy children’s
charities. If there is anything that we can do to make
your day easier please don't hesitate to ask for our assistance.
Thanks again for swimming with us this year.
